You're launching a new site or migrating an existing one, Net2Secure empowers you to register, transfer, and manage domains seamlessly, all via your Net2Secure control panel. If you're a small business owner or site administrator in India or beyond, this guide helps you understand all aspects of domain management with Net2Secure.

1. Register or Transfer a Domain

  • Register a new domain: Use the domain search in your Net2Secure dashboard to find and register a domain. Choose from a wide range of TLDs, including .com, .in, .co.in, and many country‑specific or niche extensions. Domain pricing is transparent and TLD‑specific.

  • Transfer a domain: Already own a domain at another registrar? You can transfer it to Net2Secure and manage everything from a centralised dashboard. Your domain will appear under your Net2Secure account once transfer completes.

2. Top‑Level Domains & Naming Guidelines

  • TLD options: Over 200 TLDs are available, including popular and region‑specific ones. Look for .in and .co.in if you're targeting Indian audiences.

Tips for choosing a domain:

  • Aim for brand‑relevant keywords and a memorable name.

  • Stick with letters, numbers, and hyphens only no special characters like accents.

  • Your domain must be between 3 and 63 characters.

3. Key Features Available with Net2Secure Domains

Full DNS Control

Customise DNS settings directly in the control panel, add or update A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, and other records whenever needed. Perfect for configuring hosting, email, or security settings.

HOIS Privacy Protection

Domain registrations with eligible TLDs include complimentary WHOIS privacy so your personal information stays secure. If your domain was purchased from a third party, we recommend checking its privacy status or transferring it to Net2Secure.

SSL Certificates

Domains pointing to a Net2Secure-hosted website are automatically protected with SSL encryption for secure visitor access.

4. Domains vs. Hosting: Understanding the Distinction

  • Domain registration gives you ownership of the name for example, yourbusiness.in.

  • Hosting provides space on the web to host your website files, emails, etc. Domains and hosting are complementary but separate. Even domains registered with Net2Secure do not include hosting by default.

5. Your Domains Dashboard<.h2>

Your Net2Secure Domains Dashboard is the central location for managing all domains registered or transferred to your account.

Through the dashboard you can:

  • View status, expiration dates, and provider info.

  • Access DNS, Billing, and Renewal settings.

  • Manage grouping for billing or independent management of multiple domains.

6. Billing and Renewals

Auto‑Renewal

Domains auto-renew by default to ensure uninterrupted service. Net2Secure emails you 15 days before an upcoming renewal. To avoid renewal, manually disable auto-renew from the domain panel.

Payment Failures & Grace Period

If payment fails:

  • Net2Secure retries every 5 days across a 15‑day window.

  • After 15 days, the domain becomes inactive.

  • You'll have another 30 days (total 45 days post-renewal) to reactivate before it's released.

Grouped vs. Ungrouped Domains

  • Grouped domains share one payment method updating billing affects all domains in that group.

  • Ungrouped domains are billed independently.

  • You can view or alter grouping via the Billing section of the domain panel.

7. Extending Registration & Cancellation

Add Years to Registration

Some TLDs support extending your term just open the domain, click & Add years” under the expiration date, then follow prompts. Note: a maximum term may apply per TLD.

ancellation & Refunds

  • Orders can be cancelled within five days of registration for a full refund.

  • Beyond five days, refunds are not issued, but you can disable auto-renew to allow the domain to expire naturally.

  • To cancel an active domain:

    1. Go to the Domains Dashboard, select the domain.

    2. Click Delete Domain, then Confirm. Be aware: deleting your primary domain may affect site accessibility.

8. Using Domains with (or without) a Website

Domains with a Hosted Site

Once DNS is configured properly, your domain can point to a Net2Secure-hosted site. If you already host elsewhere, just configure DNS manually or transfer the domain for easier integration.

Parked Domains

If you're not ready to launch a website, Net2Secure offers parking. Parked domains display a clean placeholder page until you're ready to point them elsewhere.

9. Managing Multiple Domains

Connecting Domains

If you own multiple brand‑related or misspelling variants, you can connect them all to one primary site. Visitors to other domains are auto‑redirected for SEO clarity.

Moving vs. Forwarding Domains

You can:

  • Move a domain to a different Net2Secure-hosted site,

  • Forward it (301 redirect) to another URL, or

  • Disconnect/cancel it if no longer needed.

Grouping & Transfer Options

  • To ungroup a domain, you may assign it to a separate trial or account and then reassign.

  • To group multiple domains together under shared billing, you can reassign them via domain settings in the dashboard. This helps simplify payment management.

FAQ

Q: Do I get a free domain with web hosting?
A: Certain Net2Secure annual hosting plans may include a complimentary domain for the first year. Redeemable during setup; terms may apply.
Q: Can I change domain names soon after registering?
A: You can rename your domain within a grace period, typically five days. Beyond that, new registration would be needed. Some ccTLDs may have different restrictions.
