You can register a domain with Net2Secure if you have one of their web hosting plans, including free trials. You don't need to have a website up and running yet. They offer popular domain endings like .com, .in, .co.in, and .org.

• A quick note: Some basic plans might not let you register a domain directly. If that happens, you can upgrade your plan or go to the "Account -> Domains" section to register.

Domain Costs and Renewals

The price of a domain depends on its ending, also called a top-level domain (TLD).

• .com and .net domains typically cost between ₹900 and ₹1,200 per year.

• .in and .co.in are more affordable, usually around ₹500 to ₹700 per year.

• Special or "premium" domains can be more expensive, ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹4,000 per year.

You can check the exact price on Net2Secure's website. By default, your domain will auto-renew each year, and you'll get an email reminder at least 15 days before it expires.

Important: If you get a special deal on your first year, the renewal price will be the regular, full price.

How to Register a New Domain

The process is easy and only takes a few steps.

Step 1: Find a Domain Name

1. Log in to your Net2Secure account.

2. Go to "Account > Domains" or "Domains & DNS."

3. Click "Search domain" or "Get a domain."

4. Type in the name you want (like yourbusiness.in).

5. Check the results to see if the name is available. If it's "unavailable" or "premium," you'll need to choose a different name or pay a higher price.

Tips for choosing a good domain name:

• For credibility in India, consider using .in or .co.in.

• Keep it short and easy to remember. Avoid hyphens and numbers.

• Try to include a keyword related to your business or brand.

Step 2: Add to Cart

Simply click the "Add to cart" button next to the domains you want. You can add more than one, like yourbusiness.com and yourbusiness.in, to protect your brand. When you're ready, click "Proceed to Checkout."

Step 3: Choose Your Registration Length

You can register a domain for 1 to 10 years. Choosing a longer term means you won't have to worry about renewing it as often.

Step 4: Enter Your Contact Information

You'll need to provide your details, including your full name, a valid address in India, an email address (it's best to use a non-domain email), and a phone number. This is required by domain governing bodies. Make sure your information is accurate.

• Note: Your contact information will be public unless you get Whois privacy protection, which is often included for free.

What if You Already Have a Domain?

You can either transfer it to Net2Secure or just connect it to your website hosted there.

Transfer Your Domain to Net2Secure

• Get the EPP/auth code from your current domain provider.

• In your Net2Secure account, choose "Transfer Domain."

• Follow the instructions to complete the transfer. Once it's done, you'll manage everything about your domain from your Net2Secure account.

Connect Your Domain Without Transferring

• Log in to your current domain provider's account.

• Change the nameservers to Net2Secure's (e.g., ns1.net2secure.com).

• This keeps your billing with your old provider but points your domain to your new website with Net2Secure.

Handy Domain Features

With Net2Secure, you get some great features for free.

• Full DNS Control: This lets you manage advanced settings, like setting up professional emailwith services like G-Suite or Office 365.

• Whois Privacy Protection: This is usually included for free and keeps your personal information private from the public.

• SSL Certificate: If you host your website with Net2Secure, they automatically give you a free SSL Certificate, which makes your site secure (HTTPS).

Fixing Common Problems

• "Payment couldn't be processed" Double-check your payment information. If the domain was recently connected to your account, you might need to contact support to free it up.

• "Cannot register domain": This means someone else already owns the name. Try a different name, a different ending (.in instead of .com), or add a keyword.

• Need to change your domain name? You can only do this within the first five days of registration. After that, you're locked in.

Managing Your Territory Information

Editing Your Contact Details You can update your contact information in the "Domains dashboard." If you change your email address for a .com or .net domain, you'll get an email to confirm the change.

Keeping Your Domain Secure

• If you change your details, you might be given the option to enable a 60-day transfer lock, which prevents anyone from moving your domain to another company during that time.

• Always keep a backup of your auth codes. You'll need these if you ever want to transfer your domain away from Net2Secure.

Transferring Ownership

Within Net2Secure: Use the "Change Registrant" feature in your domain settings to transfer ownership to another person.

To Another Company:

• Make sure your domain has been registered for at least 60 days.

• Unlock the domain in your settings.

• Generate an EPP/auth code and give it to the new company to start the transfer.
