Steps to Configure Private Nameservers in Plesk
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- A VPS or Dedicated Server with a static public IP address
- Plesk is installed and accessible
- A registered domain (e.g., example.com)
- Administrator access to Plesk
Example:
- Domain: example.com
- Server IP: 192.0.2.10
You'll create:
- ns1.example.com
- ns2.example.com
Step 2: Log in to Plesk
Open your Plesk panel.
https://your-server-ip:8443
Log in as the Administrator.
Step 3: Create DNS Records
From the left menu, navigate to:
Websites & Domains
Click Add Record
Create the following records.
A Record for ns1

Hostname |
IP Address |
| A |
ns1 |
192.0.2.10 |
Click OK.
A Record for ns2
| Record Type |
Hostname |
IP Address |
| A |
ns2 |
192.0.2.10 (or second IP) |
Click OK.
Step 4: Verify NS Records
While still in DNS Settings, verify that your domain contains the following NS records.

ns2.example.com |
If they are missing:
Click Add Record
Choose NS
Create:
| Host |
Nameserver |
| example.com |
ns1.example.com |
| example.com |
ns2.example.com |
Click Update to apply the DNS changes.
Step 5: Apply DNS Changes
After adding the records:
Click
Update
or
Apply Changes
Depending on your Plesk version.
Plesk will reload the DNS service automatically.
